American rap artist DMX settled $250,000 with Compass Bank to save his Mount Kisco home from foreclosure, the Chicago Defender reported on October 19.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, 43, made the settlement in response to a lawsuit filed against him by Compass Bank. DMX was sued by the bank in 2013 for allegedly refusing to pay off his loan, and it urged the foreclose of his home. DMX’s payment of $250,000, however, settled the mortgage of the home he paid $649,000 for in 2000 and allowed him to avoid foreclosure.
